South to the The Falls (15km)The Niagara River Recreation Trail starts just two blocks from the train station, and continues south to the falls area, where on road cycling is required.* The throngs of people gathering to marvel at the falls will signify your arrival, if you haven't already seen the mist rising from the crashing water. There's more than enough activities to keep every type of visitor happy for days. This ride is ideal for those who don't wish to ride very far, and those with small children. Try exploring to the North the following day (below). * Alternate route to the falls: Exit Niagara Falls train station - 4267 Bridge St North past Niagara River Gorge to Niagara-on-the-Lake Region (30km)Head North along the Niagara River Recreation Trail, starting two blocks from the train station and enjoy spectacular views of the gorge and an easy coast down the escarpment. You will pass by orchards, parks and wineries, all within easy reach from the trail. Be sure to leave enough time to get back up the escarpment in order to catch the train home!
