Lost in the Rocks and Trees Race Infolitrt logo.png

The Lost in the Rocks (and Trees) mountain bike race has been an ongoing community event for the last 14 years. In it's current configuration, it takes place on the Voyageur Multi-Use Trail System, outside of the town of Mattawa Ontario. There are two courses, one measuring 60 km, the other 110 km (approximately). This is not a course for the weak at heart. The Lost in the Rocks and Trees will take you back to the beginning of Mountain Biking - when groomed trails did not exist. From technical single track, retired logging roads, to rock strewn climbs (and decents), soft sand and puddles that are 'surprisingly' deep, the sheer distance and incredible terrain of the Canadian Shield will put your skills and endurance to the test. Some riders don't finish...MANY bike parts don't finish...and that's part of what makes it Ontario's lostintherocks_2009_andrewlivitt-2286 - 300.jpgToughest Mountain Bike Race.

This race is part of the Mattawa Regions Voyageur Adventure week, with live music and outdoor adventure activities taking place in the town of Mattawa on Saturday July 17. Transportation between the race venue and Adventure Week events will be available for race participants and spectators, so make sure to bring your friends and family along to cheer you on and take in the festivities.

The Ontario North Bike Train weekend coincides with the Race and special arrangements are available for passengers wishing to participate in the event. There will be a shuttle available for passengers participating in the race and their friends and family, and special accommodations are available in both Mattawa and North Bay.
